In The Beginning…
Cable Guys was started in February 2004. Company Director – Lee Spicknell had shortly graduated from Nottingham University’s Electronic Engineering Faculty. The original aim was to provide affordable data network installations for student properties, homeowners and commercial properties.
Quickly spreading to cover Nottingham, Lincoln and Loughborough, this service proved popular and we quickly identified another niche in the market with the upcoming digital switch-over – aerial installation and satellite installation.
With an already impressive reputation these new services were quickly adopted by our existing customers and word about Cable Guys spread even further.
At the time we believed that the best way to prove our quality and service was through industry accreditation so we contacted the Confederation of Aerial Industries and were soon accredited members able to prominently display the CAI logo. A great stamp of approval and quality in the aerial / satellite industry.
The Next Steps…
With CAI accreditation we were able to move with confidence into the domestic aerial and satellite market but we quickly found ourselves requiring knowledge of larger commercial systems.
Shortly after this Lee Spicknell completed a 1 year course that was to enable Cable Guys to design, install and commission communal aerial and satellite systems, also known as IRS or Integrated Reception Systems, from early 2008.
Where We Are Today….
Fast forward to today, the world of TV and internet has seriously blossomed and the desire for good television and internet signals is more important than ever before with gaming, streaming and 4K demand constantly growing.
Having fine-tuned our aerial installations, and always trying to maintain quality, we are market leaders in offering an enhanced 5 year warranty as standard. Our warranty and terms and conditions have been approved by Trading Standards and we are approved by the Buy With Confidence scheme.
Constantly looking to innovate and offer the complete service we now offer a range of audio, video, data, WIFI and security installations – from hanging a TV, multi zone audio, CCTV and HDTV distribution systems (modulator and matrix) all with the same impeccable Cable Guys quality and level of service.
