As a company with a mobile fleet of vehicles and engineers our biggest energy consumption comes from our vans. To help reduce fuel consumption we are using Google Maps and telephone or email conversations to help get the information required so we can give quotes without having to visit the property. In addition each van has been issued with a Van Best Practise guide and have weekly checks of tyre pressures and tyre tread depth to improve fuel efficiency.
At our office energy consumption is minimal with only a few fluorescent lights and workstations using any significant electricity. As we always turn off lights, laptops and monitors when we leave the office there is not much we can do in the office to reduce consumption. Despite this we are going to get an energy monitor and see what our normal usage is and if there is anything we can do to reduce it.
