This week we received confirmation of the official launch dates for Freeview HD throughout the UK.
Manchester and London get access to Freeview HD in December 2009 with much of north England, south-west England, Scotland, Wales and Birmingham getting access throughout 2010.
The Midlands, East Anglia and other south and central regions get access in 2011 at the same time as the regions digital switchover with remaining areas getting access in the final stages of digital switchover in 2012.
